AMD Ryzen® 7000 series Desktop CPU List and Specifications
Overview
AMD launched Ryzen® 7000 series on 29th August 2021, with the new Zen 4 architecture and the am5 platform. AM5 saw the introduction LGA (Land Grid Array) socket. Specifically LGA 1718 socket.
AMD promise that these CPUs will be available worldwide from September 27.
These processors have support for DDR5, PCIe® 5.0 interface. Sadly, they are not backward compatibility with DDR4.
AMD launched 4 CPUs with at the top of the lineup is Ryzen® 9 7950X. Here is a comprehensive lineup of the 4 CPUs.

Compatible chipsets
The new AM5 socket features four new chipsets. The four chipsets are X-series and B-series
- AMD X670 - support enthusiast overclocking with PCIe® 5.0 support for storage and optional support for graphics.
- AMD X670 Extreme - provide extreme overclocking capabilities and connectivity with PCIe® 5.0 support for storage and graphics.
- AMD B650 - designed for mainstream users with support for DDR5 memory and optional PCIe® 5.0 support
- AMD B650 Extreme - designed for performance users with PCIe® 5.0 storage support and optional graphics support.
The x-series chipsets will be available in September at launch while the B-series will be available from October.
